DefQon 1 Silent Disco

The only people DefQon 1 festival disappoints each year are the tens of thousands that aren't able to get tickets! For the lucky ones that do get into the sell out event, it is truly a remarkable experience.

It’s pretty special to be amongst the chosen ones, and we were happy to see the familiar sites of Walibi World as our trucks arrived at Biddinghuizen.

We reminded our staff that photography is banned pre-event - the level of security stopping early leaks of the unique stages is second to none.It serves as the first indication of the excitement this incredible dance event stirs up every year - welcome to DefQon1.

Over 500 DJs and acts performed across the weekend on world class sound systems with jaw dropping production levels. Just take a look at the end show for a taste. 

It’s not just a music event, onsite there is also a gym, tattoo parlour, hot tubs and so much more, alongside jaw-dropping visuals and delicious eats and drinks for every whim. It’s a pretty unique experience.

Our paths with DefQon1 first crossed in 2022 when our Silent Disco headphones were given a thorough introduction to hardstyle music. The unique blend of electronic dance vibes, layered with pulsating, pounding beats are (surprisingly) a match made in heaven for Silent Disco, leaving DefQon ‘Warriors’ in a trance like state.  

Due to overwhelming demand, there was a significant increase in headphone events at DefQon1 2023. With over 12,000 headphones on site across 5 stages, plus 2 separate onsite tours, DefQon1 is one of the biggest, most creative and technically challenging headphone events in the world. 

That’s right up our street at Silent Disco King and we were thrilled to be able to bring the creative vision to life, with over 20 events and 50 hours of entertainment keeping thousands of people vibing. 

Plans to go bigger and better in 2024 had already begun before we even got the last headphones unloaded.
