The Silent Disco Team convoyed to the Netherlands last weekend for the 50th Anniversary of PinkPop.
On Friday, we kicked off the festival with a massive Silent Disco at Camping B in the Desperados 'We Are The Party' Area. Thousands of people quickly filled the tent and partied until 3am for free to the 3 channels. The atmosphere was incredible.
3 things we quickly learned:
- The Dutch love a LOUD singalong.
- Natasha Bedingfield 'Unwritten' is a forgotten banger.
- Classic Dutch kids songs are the earworm you'll never shake off.
On Sunday, we relocated to Stage 4 on the main site for officially the loudest Silent Disco we've ever been a part of (since Friday). From 8.30pm, the venue filled in minutes and the overspill outside was huge. For 5 tokens deposit, about £12, revellers of all ages decided to spend the evening warming up for the night's closing act, Armin Van Buuren with us. We should apologise to Armin as we were so busy the organisers delayed his main stage set so people could party with us just a little longer. Holding up the headliner, that's a first for us.
Sorry Armin, come and join us next time.
Subject yourself to the catchiest tune ever. WARNING: It will be in your head all day.
Told you.
